So I haven’t gotten to post on the web site half as often as I’d planned, on account of how much I have been helping my pops manage his wild & crazy midlife crisis. True, I guess it isn’t as far gone as it could be. How it went, I mean the way he played it out was to get himself dressed up like fonzie, and come on over to my apartment and tell me, in his jazziest dialect: “Put some shades on, boy, you and I are going to be shopping for some classic Mustangs for sale. You heard that right, son, I’m totally set to do this thing.”

Right then and there we were on our way to a couple of those crazy classic car places that you’re mostly sure are owned by the mob, and I see the dude made out a check right there on the spot, for an extremely sparkly classic car. It really is an impressive item. It made some great noise too.

Notice that I put about that sound in a past tense. It sounded really nice right until it stopped making any noises. My pops maintains that it’s just a simple thing to fix and he just needs the right part. Only thing is, it’s not as straightforward to get your hands on 1966 Mustang parts as it was like 30 years ago, but my pop tells me there is a pretty sizable market for them in spite of their age. It seems like the the best bet for finding parts for 1966 Mustangs is through internet auctions, since you can get them rebuilt and sometimes even brand new. They might not be that inexpensive, however… Come on, man, we’re talking about ancient automotive parts.

I guess it could’ve been worse… He could’ve decided to buy a mail-order bride.
